Hello. My name is Derek Dodds and I’m a Retoucher. I’d like to think that’s what Little Me thought Big Me would be someday, but the truth is not that. The truth is that Big Me tumbled, rolled, and dove down a hole where he acquired the passion and skills as he fell. He fell into a wonder-filled career where he finds purpose and joy in a world of layers.

 

Having suffered from childhood obesity, I enjoy working on product and lifestyle imagery for brands that promote health and wellness. Health and wellness is multidimensional — physical, mental, and spiritual. If you have a product that makes the customer a better person, I want to retouch that.

I have 6+ years of Photoshop / Retouching experience. Skills include: retouching, color correction, cloning, clipping masks, pen tool, cropping, compositing and blending multiple exposures, background removal, frequency separation, dodge and burn, and product photography.
